I can’t believe this is my first post for 2015!
The year is, somewhat predictably, whizzing by in a blur. Is it April already? I feel so cheated!
It all started with the 2014 silly season (the only time the South African television production industry takes a break, albeit a very short one). I was especially excited about this particular end-of-year time out because we weren’t expecting any stay over guests – so there were hopefully going to be a lot more opportunities to just be still, potter around the garden and devote some concentrated time and energy to my personal pet projects, like photography, art and of course, blogging. As I excitedly approached the festive season I began to direct a little movie in my head about how it was all going to play out. Cue the opening titles…
First, I planned to do lots and lots of this…
Even more of this…
And this…
Which, of course, would necessitate lots of this…
I love shooting portraits – and I invariably find myself volunteering to take pictures of the people I’m fond of. So naturally I was also going to be doing a little of this…
And since the creative juices were flowing, maybe dust off my old pencils, graphites and pastels – and crank out a few more of these…
And in-between it all, I was going to retire to my man cave and pen some thoughts for future articles on the blog…
Only to discover that my blog had in fact exceeded its bandwidth due to an unprecedented upsurge in traffic to the site. Judging by the stats, it appears my previous post triggered a frenzy of visits, all within a short space of time. I only wish I knew who these mysterious, non-commenting people were!
And if this was to become an ongoing occurrence I figured it was time to find a new host with unlimited bandwidth. But by the time I’d shopped around for one it was already time to get back to the business of doing this…
And this…
And, of course, this…
And so, here we are. It’s halfway through April and I’ve only just gotten around to migrating the blog to its new home. This post, ladies and gentlemen, represents my return to blogging after an almost 6 month absence.
By now I’m sure you’re as bored with explanations about my demanding schedule as I am – so I won’t be apologising, yet again, to my followers.
But I will say this…
It feels good to be back!

OMG, Mr. Vagar! In all the years I’ve been watching you on the telly I’ve never seen you wear shorts. Where have you been hiding those sexy legs!? 😉
I love your artwork BTW

Hello Mr Vagar, I really like the ‘snapshots’ posts. There’s something exciting about seeing how you live of camera. It feels a bit like when you bump into your teacher outside of school 🙂 X
